  • Denomination: Merlot DOC Venezia
  • Grapes: 100% Merlot
  • Origin: on the plain, Piave area
  • Soil: clayey and caranthose
  • Training system: spurred cordon with about 2500 vinestocks per hectare
  • Vines age: vineyard dating back to 1956
  • Yield per hectare: 70 quintals
  • Harvesting: manual harvesting in small crates at the beginning of October (part of the grapes dry in the vineyard)
  • Vinification: destemming and maceration with fermentation in vitrified concrete tanks for about 12 months
  • Ageing: in oak and cherry barrels and tonneaux for 12 months. Further refinement period in bottle for 24 months
  • Number of bottles: 5000 of L 0,750 | 250 of 1,5L
Tasting note
  • Colour: intense ruby red with garnet reflections
  • Bouquet: intense and pungent with hints of morello cherry and plum. Light herbaceous notes, small spices and tobacco
  • Flavour: excellent acidity and minerality. Warm, elegant and balanced. The tannin, in certain years, can be more pungent, absolute value of full longevity.
  • Alcohol content: 14% Vol
  • Combinations: at the table it goes well with cured meats and medium-aged or aged cheeses. Grilled, braised red meat and light game. Also pleasant to drink at the end of a meal.
  • Temperature of service: 18°/20°

It is born in the holy river habitat, in vineyards innervated in 1956 on clay lawns. This stately merlot, maturates in cherry and oak wood.
