The Terre di Grassaga estate is like an island, cut out by the channels that coast along and delimit its cultivations. And it’s an island kissed by the sun, fertile thanks to the clay and sandy float, a great combination to get great wines.
Here the roots of the grapevines penetrate in depth and also in hottest months they fish the water preserved by the ground, while the grape mature under the rays of sunshine in this beautiful season. The senior witnesses of the territory continue to speak about a miracle, because in the other lawns over the estate it changes completely the composition of the ground, under the fields there is peat above all. The vine yards are looked after and had been cultivating for so much time: the merlot grapevines have the 56 years-old beautiful age, and every now and then are regenerated with a graft technique handed down by the country wisdom; today are placed side by side by the vines Incrocio Manzoni, with which is produced the Cuvèe oro 07. The rows are in orderly prepared and allow the handmade grape harvest only: so they were drawn, so today they are preserved, to keep on guaranteeing a selected harvest of the best grapes.
Over the vineyards the look is placed on the suburb’s houses; a little further on dominate the “idrovora” of Grassaga. The senior farmer of the place call it the “artifact” still today.
